Palliative Care has made one heck of a difference in my life. I went two years living with pain at a level of 8 all the time before Palliative Care. Palliative Care has made all the difference in my life. It’s the difference of getting me off the couch and allowing me to move around and live. It’s a difference of night and day. Palliative Care is wonderful; the staff really took the time to work with me. I really appreciate all they do.
The palliative care team members are experts in what they do. My doctor can’t be an expert on everything. I would rather have experts helping me fight my disease and have palliative care make me comfortable. I was in the hospital for seven weeks; finally I was discharged with all these tubes and was terribly uncomfortable.
A friend of mine told me to call palliative care. I called, and the doctor came right to my home! It was too good to be true. I called on a Sunday in pain, and I was able to speak right with (the palliative care doctor). My doctors could not diagnose the pain or come up with a good treatment plan. If I have to live with this pain, I do not want to live. (The palliative care team) is able to help keep my pain level under control.
